Stien Gijsbrechts

I started my career at Bloomberg where my leadership qualities were recognised early on and I was promoted to team leader after just 6 months. I decided that the world of finance and perhaps the responsibility of leading a team were not what I was looking for at the time and I went back to university to complete an Msc in Information Systems. Though I enjoy the logic of programming, my real interest stems from the fact that IT has touch points throughout any business.

Following my masters I worked for several years as an IT project manager at GE- the linking pin between traditional IT and the business. With time I evolved to Change Management, the people side of the projects.

In 2010 I worked with a professional coach as I was on a crossroads of my career. I knew that I didn’t want to go back to being an internal project manager within a company. Yet I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. Through coaching I discovered what drives me and which values influence my choices. I finally understood why I thrived on the contact I had with people and why other sides of project management made me want to rip my hair out. Based on my self-discovery I found a role as a relationship manager at Gartner where I had contact with interesting people and could help them achieve better results.

Realising that my need for self-development would mean that my euphoria of having this new role would be short-lived, I decided that I wanted other people to experience the same levels of realisation and change and trained as a coach with one of the most reputable coaching training organisations: The Coaching Training Instutute (CTI) in 2014. Since then I have coached a host of people and have seen the transformational effects.

Today I combine change management consulting, coaching and communication skills training to provide a full service to organisations in the throes of transformation.
